As the nation pauses to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the St. Mark’s community reflects not only on his words, but on the responsibility they continue to carry. Dr. King’s vision of justice, service, courage, and moral leadership still echoes through classrooms, conversations, and the daily experiences of young people learning what it means to lead with purpose.
With many college students returning home for the winter break, St. Mark’s invited college-age alumni back to campus on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, to reconnect with their school and hear from alumni mentors about what lies ahead.
On any given day, a third grader might articulate a peer’s perspective, or an Upper School student might debate human rights with poise and humility. Across every division, Marksmen are learning what it means to listen first, think deeply, and respond with respect.
When Sebastian White ’07, known as Nigel during his years at St. Mark’s, walked across the graduation stage nearly two decades ago, he carried with him the lessons of perseverance, leadership, and service that define a St. Mark’s education. Today, those lessons are transforming lives far beyond Dallas.
For three weeks, the Brendan Court ’06 Summer Enrichment Program hosted 31 middle school boys from Dallas ISD schools for lessons in literature, math, ceramics, and robotics, among other subjects.
